GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING WORKSHOP REGISTRATION & GETTING TO SALT SPRING ISLAND
How to Register: To reserve a space, call 604-901-8437 or send Judith an email. (Calls are returned Monday - Saturday.) A 50% deposit is requested to reserve your place. The balance of the workshop fee and material cost is due at the end of class. The deposit is non-refundable unless the workshop is full and someone is found to fill your space. Workshops that are cancelled by Judith are fully refundable. Cheques, credit cards or PayPal accepted.
Class size: Minimum 2, maximum 8. The intimacy of a small group is preferred, so most workshops will have 3-5 paticipants, but occasionally there will be as many as 8.
Materials: If you wish to bring your own materials, send an email and a materials list will be provided. The studio has a large supply of hand spun silk yarns, curly locks, novelty yarns and fabric scraps with which you may experiment, but if you have a fibre, fabric or yarn you would like to bring, you are welcome to do so.
What to Bring: If you have a plastic apron to protect your clothes while wet-felting, please bring it. (The studio has one which may be borrowed/shared.) Fabric scissors or scissors sharp enough to snip fabric. Also, see Materials" section above and "Food" below.
What to Wear: Old clothing and shoes. You may get a little wet. Sometimes the runoff water has a very slight amount of dye in it. This washes out of clothing made from plant fibres but could possibly adhere to silk, wool and nylon.
Food: Light refreshment is provided, as well as water, coffee and tea. You are welcome to bring your own food to class. Lunches can be ordered from Rock Salt Restaurant, which is within walking distance. A refrigerator and microwave are available for your use.
How to get to the studio: Unless otherwise noted, workshops are held at Judith's waterfront studio on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada. (Address provided at time of registration.) The studio is a pleasant 5 minute seaside walk from the Fulford Ferry Terminal and the Island shuttle stop, so it isn't necessary to bring a car. See BC Ferries and Saltspring Island Transit System for schedules. Don't worry if you arrive a little late due to the ferry schedule, we will be ready to help you get started when you arrive.
Parking: Space is somewhat limited, so carpooling, when possible, is recommended. However, parking is available on the street.

Accommodation I can recommend:
Ocean Spray B&B by the Sea - owned by my dear friend, Ilse. Breathtaking view and lovely private suite on Ilse's beautiful forested and secluded retreat.
Monivea Boutique Inn & B&B: several of my students have stayed here and were happy. Closer to Ganges, 13 km from my studio in Fulford, but on the bus route.
